I last used this portage trail in 2020 and it has not changed much since then. This portage survived the 2021 forest fire, with the fire burning just the edges of this trail. I fixed up both entrances with a handsaw and marked trees with blazes. Easier to find now. It was very dry in 2025, so I hardly noticed the middle boggy section. I also had time to cut with a handsaw a detour around the steep climb up/down from the granite ridge on the Cyclops Lake side. Should be easier now.

Talked to folks who had just traveled this portage and found it extremely challenging since the 2021 burn.
