There appear to be options on both sides of the falls. The north side appears to be the more recent, so it might be preferable, though there are still cairns on the south side.

I found the downstream entrance to this portage overgrown, so I cleaned it out with a handsaw and marked it with a tree blaze. The rest of the portage was easy to follow despite the burn damage. I was paddling this during a dry year, so the entrance on the Telescope Lake side was a rock garden and required extra carrying to get to the lake.
