In 2025 I used this portage a few times returning from canoe trips and short day trips into Douglas. It was clear and well maintained when I walked it. The Stan Lake side was muddy due to very low water levels.

A very wide and navigable portage through lovely aspen forest that is closer to 600m than 550. The Stan Lake end is NOT where indicated but further north which can be confusing on return to Johnson Lake.
