This portage was hard to find on the west side. Once I did, I marked it with tree blazes and cut logs that should be visible from the water. The 2021 forest fire did a number on this portage. Many standing dead trees that had to cleared, but the trail is still easy to follow in most sections. When it wasn't, I hung orange flagging tape to mark the way. Only a couple of big trees that I could not cut with a handsaw and had to crawl over. The park rangers with chainsaws did make a trip through here after me, so that might not be an issue anymore.
