This is one of the longer portages in WCPP and was only partially burned by the 2021 forest fire. The west entrance was easy to find from the short paddle across the pond. The Bigshell portage entrance is harder to see due to the fire. I used some orange flagging tape, so it should be easier now. The rest of the portage was fairly flat and dry for me, but 2025 was a drought year, so some of it could be different in wetter years. For the most part the trail was easy to follow and I only used flagging on sections were it was easy to lose it. I cleared it with a handsaw so nothing blocking it.
