This portage burned in 2021 during the KEN051 forest fire. I last saw this portage in 2020 and it was an easy walk in a beautiful forest. Now it is burned up and required a few hours to clear with a handsaw to make it passable. I am not sure the last time a Park crew cleared it with chainsaws, but it seems to be a few years. The undergrowth is growing back thick and fast covering up the trail. The lack of use is also not helping. I found the south entrance especially overgrown, but is much better now.
