*2025 Update*: This portage was cleared with a chainsaw by a Park crew in 2025. I was able to easily follow the trail. They did bypass the trail at the south end by going up a steep ridge and then back down to the trail. Too many burned trees still standing and dead ones on the ground. Much better than when I last saw this in 2022. *2022*: This portage was wrecked by the 2021 fire. Many trees down and the old path is gone. This trail will need chainsaw work by the Park and be rebuilt, so check with them before using. I dragged, crawled, and climbed over many downed trees to get through when going from north to south.
