There was some new blow down which I cleared. New jack pines are encroaching on the trail, but someone had done quite a bit of work clearing them. I took care of some of the others, but this will be a continuing challenge. The trail was well marked and easy to follow.

I cleaned up this portage the best I could with a handsaw and added some rock cairns. Still needs more work with new waist high jackpine trees covering up the trail. An up and down portage over some granite ridges. Expect more burnt trees to come down over the next few years. *2023 Update*: I paddled through here a couple of times this year, and improved the trail each time. I knocked back some of the undergrowth and added some rock cairns. It is amazing how quick those seedlings grow. No trees down when I last portaged it.

Rock cairns and flagging mark the way but don't expect a highway! GPS is very handy for this one.
