Every couple years, when I have time on a paddling trip, I will take a few hours and spend it cleaning out this portage with a handsaw. This portage is not used much, so the re-growth from the 2016 forest fire (escaped damage from 2021 fire) is coming back thick. I knocked this back along the trail and made the entrances easier to spot from the water. There were a few trees down in 2025 due to lack of use, so it is passable now. The trail goes up and over a couple of granite ridges with only one low spot that can get mucky in wetter weather.

Entry point more West than what shows on this map when approaching from the North. With the recent burn, the entry pointed is marked by flashing tape and hard to find. The trail gets lost among the burnt out forest
