I found this portage hard to find on the Burntwood side, so when I did, I marked it with a rock cairn and a tree blaze on a standing dead tree. I cleaned the rest of the trail with a handsaw, so it is passable and easy to follow. This area was burned in the 2021 fire. Therefore the underbrush is coming back thick and the lack of use is not helping. I also cleared out the east entrance by knocking back the tag alder / birch, so much easier to spot if you are travelling west.
