*2024 Update*: I was paddling north and took time to improve this portage. The small jack pines were growing back thick along the path, so I knocked them back and made it more visible. Both ends are still marked with rock cairns, so easy to find. Should be good for a couple of years. 2022: The west end of the portage is marked with a small cairn and flagging tape. It is still recovering from the 2016 fire so a few trees down. I made it passable in 2022. I also built a rock cairn on the east side to mark the portage.

Thank goodness for trail crews the year previous or this thing coulda been nasty! Lots of potential for blowdown in here. Regrowth is coming in way too strong making for interesting passage if not cleared out almost yearly.

West end marked by tree blaze, but path into forest is obvious (measured at metres)
