I paddled north to just walk this portage and not carry my gear across, as part of my effort to see every portage in WCPP. Good thing. This portage has not seen a WCPP chainsaw crew for a number of years. The undergrowth is growing back thick from the 2018 fire, so many jack pines now 6-8 feet high completely covering up the trail. The only way I could find the trail was from the eye level stumps that the Park last cut with chainsaws, and the odd blue flagging. It was late in the day, so I did not cut anything...only hung the odd orange flagging to help the next paddler. Hopefully the Park fixes this in 2025.
