This one was a bit overgrown and brushy, even in late May when I was there. It was located in the far southeast corner of Alton’s southeasternmost bay, not the southwest corner as was indicated on my McKenzie and NatGeo maps.

Nothing too challenging about the portage besides the medium length. Alton landing is clear and made up of a pine needle/tree root floor. Path was starting to get overgrown in early August, but the trail was still discernible the whole way. Wonder landing was also clear and had a nice, grassy landing. 6/10.

I visited in June, so the path was clear. However, I could see this getting overgrown later in the year. Even in June, I had branches scraping against the canoe for most of the way. Other than this, it was a fairly nondescript portage. A couple of muddy spots along the way, but nothing too difficult other than the length.

The portage was very overgrown. Came back a year later and it had been much improved by being cleared a bit.
