Deceptive with some very tough areas. Aster Pond is affectionately call poo poo pond as it is very boggy and shallow with a stench. Saw a very LARGE snapper in this pond. Leeches are very common and the portage coming in from the north has a lot of mud and logs to get out far enough to float a canoe with gear. Careful you will go to your waist in muck certain times of the year.
