Sema itself is a very unique lake. There's a feeling about it with decent topography, clear water, and some sandy shores. After paddling across and finding the campsite occupied, we followed the shoreline down to the campsite. Then it was up and over and into the vast expanses of Knife.

Somewhat sandy landing on shallow Knife end. The trail to Sema seems to follow a small brook for a good portion of the length. Shortly after starting out there is a long succession of boulder strewn small mud holes as the trail slowly climbs. In most places the mud wasn't too deep but, did have the tendency to make the boulders quite slick. Also, I imagine this will be ground zero for mosquito hatches during warm weather. The trail dries and levels out over the last 1/3 of the trail which terminates at a very nice pebble beach landing on Sema.
