In terms of the actual portage trail itself, not great, not bad. Modest elevation, nothing too tricky or awful in footing. not the best breeze, so you'll sweat, but it is not a portage you will hate for years to come. But two things coming north from Trident are annoying. First, it's not easy to find, the landing is way up in the reeds and you can spend time searching for it. Second, it is a dock surrounded by what is basically hip-deep vegetation muck. Getting out and unloading without ending up in that muck is challenging. I did not suceed in doing it. Gross, gross, gross. Thankfully the northern end is nice and rocky and I got to wash off.

Pretty odd to see a dock landing. We made our way across with relative ease.
