On the Cat (Frank) Lake side, the portage trail is flat and easy. When you come to a fork in the trail, go right...look for the yellow trail marker. The Panache Lake half of the trail follows a dry creek bed full of moss-covered boulders. A twisted ankle waiting to happen if you're not paying attention.
