Headed south out of Nym, this is the first of two portages you can take, instead of the longer and single portage to Batch. DON'T use these two shorter portages. The second one to the south is steep and overgrown. Most everybody takes the longer single portage to the east, and for a reason.

We chose to try the Jump Lake portage over the nearby Batchewaung portage. Big mistake. South to north there's a huge uphill climb. Save yourself the trouble and take the neighbor route.
