I've used this portage many times over many years in all conditions, but my most recent trip was worth commenting on. The portage is normally a pretty easy one...boardwalks half the way and a large sandy landing at Stanton Bay. But the high water in spring 2024 made it a mess...the boardwalks are all slippery, the rest of the portage was extremely wet with water flowing down the trail for much of the back half. The sandy landing was all under water, leaving space for maybe two canoes to land comfortably. Amazing how water levels can turn a simple portage into one to grumble about.

Portage is from the Stanton Bay parking lot to the water. Length is 470 meters, or about 100 rods. Trail is roughly 2/3 boardwalk and 1/3 trail with a small rocky downhill from the parking lot to start, flat walking on boardwalk or trail until about the last 15-20 rods where the trail gets pretty rocky as you finish the portage. Pretty easy portage, but it is more uphill on the way out.
