Ironically I intinmately know the Munro to Mac portage the previous comment mentioned. Gosh that portage was horrible, we nearly lost the guy carrying the canoe on that one. Anyhow, our map had two portages going into Skindance, but this was the only one we could find. Steep hill at the start, flooded in the middle, but Skindance was pretty. Not another person on it. This portage is tough, but short enough that it doesn't matter.

This portage was flooded and definitely difficult. However, the difficulty made it fun because the end came quickly. If this portage was 200 rods, it would be the hardest portage ever, worse than Munro to Mack in the rain. Skin dance itself is pretty uninteresting for both scenery and fishing.
