This is the main section of the "death march" portage. From a technical standpoint, this is not an overly difficult portage, but the overall length of this portage presents a good challenge. The middle section of the portage is very overgrown, and there were long stretches that involved plowing through the underbrush with the canoe overhead. There is also a mucky creek crossing as you approach the western terminus. Rated difficult due to overall length and "brushiness".
