This one seemed pretty challenging when we went through. It didn't seem like anyone had been through there for awhile. Mainly challenging due to some elevation and wrestling the canoe through overhanging growth and branches. Was worth the day trip from Wicksteed, as we found Ballard to be a great fishing lake, full of walleye and largemouth.

This portage starts with a mucky uphill start at Wicksteed, followed by a bypass around some deadfall. A long uphill stretch follows, then a long downhill to Ballard. All of the portage was overgrown when I went through. Tough portage overall.
