There is a portage trail here. I have taken it from the Isabella side, though I didn't walk it to the end. Fairly narrow, but not difficult on the part I walked. It's likely for low water passage, as I've always been able to paddle via the stream.

maps can get confusing in this area due to showing portages that no longer seem to exist. the only route thru here seems to be this creek so don't think you are off course when you are forced to go this way. there are a number of beaver dams, a rocky, shallow area and a few places you might drag depending on the water level. it does eventually dump into north bay.
