We were heading northwest on this - the portage starts 100 yards or so up a small creek and there were, as I recall, three beaver dams to cross spaced 20 yards apart after leaving the lake & before the portage. But the hardest part was the last 40 yards of the lake - was a mire of mud that was very challenging to paddle through. Went this way to avoid the 'hard' portage on the slightly more northerly route to Side Lake. Regretted this decision.

We paddled up the stream to get to this portage. It was a short paddle of 150' give or take to a large rock take out. Two beaver dams to cross. One short stint of thick muck that we could not paddle. Portage is fairly level and not at all difficult. Map shows the portage trail goes all the way to the unnamed lake, we didn't verify that.
