Reasonably well-travelled portage. Has some elevation gain, moderate rockiness, and a bit of mud, but is easy to follow. About an average Quetico portage other than being a little long. Feels about like the Meadows portages in terms of difficulty.

As advertised, just a long walk in the woods. One ascent right away if you are leaving Sunday and heading to Basswood that will get the lungs working, one quite rocky patch and a few wet spots depending on recent rain. Pretty much par for the course, perhaps even a little easier than a typical 600m Quetico portage.

Well-used North Portage is fairly straightforward, with a bit of a climb and a bit muddy in spots. Well-maintained. Consider the two portages through Burke, if that works with your route plans.
