Wasn't impressed with either landing - both very tight but, the Whack end was more of a pain (possibly because of high water?) The trail itself was a juxtaposition of boulders and mud. The boardwalk near the Whack end was severely slanted and about to fall apart.

Not too bad for us in terms of mud or water. Fairly decent landings on both sides, but the Whack end, in particular, is really nice. We arrived early ahead of the incoming snow storm.

Short portage but horrible entry in Homer. Very muddy with not much space to load/unload canoes. The 3 short portages are much better if heading into Vern.

This was a mucky wet portage. Very rocky and narrow, and have to walk on boards parts of the way.
