When approaching from the Isabella Lake/downstream end the portage will be on the right (west) side of the river. Both landings are narrow and inconvenient but workable. Scorched by the fire so currently no large trees in the nearby vicinity. There may be a few minorly mushy spots but, other than that, the trail is very flat, very grassy and very brushy.

This portage is on the south side of the rapids. Portage landings are small/tight but have decent footing. It is a very flat, but extremely grown in. Expect branches and brush in your face the whole time. It would be easy to get lost if you are not paying attention. This area does not get maintained very often.

Boulder strewn river section - prolly more like 40-50 rods. I found NO portage to the north of the river. Information gleaned after the fact from another suggests that the portage might exist on the south side. Hauled 2 packs and canoe over over the boulders.
