This portage is worse than the adjacent 433-rod. The trail is mostly level but muddy in spots and there are many downed trees. The south landing is OK but the north one is a mudfest. There is no way to avoid it. Between this and the next portage is a large beaver dam, where the best place to lift over is found on the far right side next to the rock face. Otherwise the river here is wide, weed-free, and clear of obstructions.

Plenty muddy, but we were moving efficiently and got through it without too much trouble.

Very muddy at the landings and on the trail. Tighten your water shoes, the mud is deep enough to get them stuck. The North landing is hard to spot when coming from the North. It is hidden in some pretty thick wild rice. 2/5

Water was high when we passed through so the landing on the South end was solid and we did not have to deal with the mud that can often be a problem there. The rest of the portage was easy.
