Approaching from Fee, you will come to a beaver dam. On the McKenzie maps, the portage is marked as starting on the south side of the dam, however, no through trail was found there. The portage comes off the north side of the dam and in 2017 was not walkable as an 80 rod portage. Rather it was approximately a 15 rod portage to a flooded area full of dead tamarack, a brief paddle through that area and a lift over into Vee. An easy but inconvenient little portage once you manage to find it.

Muddy portage. Very secluded wilderness feeling portage with lots of moose footprints.
