In winter, this this portage and the entire creek system to Phoebe is traversable under standard conditions with a bit of care. The east end of this portage can be approached from the south to give generous leeway to a patch of open water. On the west end of this portage, it is possible to hug the southern shore of the pond to avoid open water and a rock at the narrowest point that has thin ice. There was a large volume of wolf and mustelid tracks that walked right down the middle.

Fairly easy up and over. The landing on the Grace end was a tad tricky, especially with the strong SE wind we had on the day of our visit.
