A big beaver dam to negotiate just prior to the east turn on Powwow Creek. The landing is right where this map indicates but it isn't much more than a hole in the wall - very overgrown etc. There was some pink ribbon marking the narrow channel in, as well as all along the portage itself. There is a very intriguing round boulder atop the cliff just downstream (within eyeshot) across from the landing. As one might expect, the trail is very brushy, has several significant elevation changes (several hills & a brief swampy section) lots of twists, turns, rocks & roots to contend with along the way. There is a scenic overlook of Ferne Lake just off the trail prior to the final descent down to the lake. 10/10
