The Fall Lake end of the portage has a few different landings - some can have pretty good current when the water is up. The trail connects with the hiking trail network around the falls. There's plenty of criss-crossing trails through here, but the portage continues on after the falls while things narrow substantially. There's a few boardwalks before the trail dumps out to a narrow landing in the reservoir above the dam.
