We finally got our new (to us) used canoe out on the water over the holiday weekend.  It's a Souris River Quetico 18.5 that performed beyond our expectations.  The trip  through Baker Lake EP #39 went phenomenally well. (I can't recall such good weather on a Memorial weekend)  Hope to have a trip report up soon with "the rest of the story."Jack ~ Weird portage

Nice looking canoe - and family! I can't wait to read the trip report. I agree about the weather - it was exceptional that weekend. We were able to take our 4 year old and 6 month old, and they both had a blast. Warm, sunny, no bugs... can't ask for anything more.
