I am new to paddle planner they show portages in yellow and then hiking trails in orange. Are the hiking trails harder than portages?

Portages are short trails between lakes. They are intended to be used by paddlers going from one lake to another. Hiking trails are much, much longer and are intended for backpacking/hiking.
