Canoed for a month in 1974 at the north end of Quetico and north. Moved to MN in 1988 and began canoeing in the BWCA in 1991 as my oldest turned 5, adding our second and third sons as they turned 5. In 2001 I brought my then 78 year old dad. Our son now live on 3 coasts: Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic, but we still paddle together adding our 2 granddaughters as they turned 7. Now 11 and 18, they are accomplished paddlers, map readers, and portagers.
