This campsite is probably the better of the two on Hazel Lake, though they are fairly similar.
The landing is easy once you get around a downed tree. I was able to pull up to a flat rock near the kitchen. The kitchen sits right next to the landing and has good seating and an excellent view of the lake.
The site is fairly open but has jack pines scattered throughout that provide shade. I found two good grassy tent pads. One is flatter and more heavily used, while the second has a slight slope. I also found two additional spots that could be used if needed, though they are more slanted.

lovely views, easy landing. nice open site. only real problem is none of the tent pads were flat. the entire camp has a noticeable downhill slope. it's also directly across from the west side portage, so you can see and hear every single group that comes through. I judged each group by how gentle they were with their canoes.

Nice site with big trees and lots of nice waterfront. Good fire grate area. Rocks for drying gear. Lightly wooded so wind can be an issue, but was pleasant while we were there and just enough to keep the bugs off most of the time. Biggest downside is the lake being so shallow there is no real fishing. Beautiful view of creek above where it enters waterfall. Saw lots of waterfowl there as well as deer. Also saw a bull moose swim/wade across the lake one night.
