Really cool site. Not a lot of hammock options, but super cool rocks out front to fish from. Caught a bunch of walleyes, largemouth, smallmouth, and more from camp. Stargazing opportunities were plentiful from this site. Lots of bear scat and clawed up trees, but no siting ourselves. Up behind this site was a super cool area where you can go climb up the hill to an overlook. Highly recommended. 4 stars for sure!

Nice secluded open campsite on a very popular lake. Close to a portage but it doesn't seem to be used much, we stayed here 3 nights in June when Ensign lake was full but only saw 1 group use the portage. Decent fire pit area and some fun hiking at the back of the campsite. Caught our biggest fish of the trip, a smallie, right from shore at the campsite. Canoe landing was ok for a couple of canoes but we had 4 so had to be creative. Probably closer to a 3 star but I did like how big it was.

On the way in from Ima on a clear and hot day in early June, we came across this somewhat secluded site at the northwest tip of Ensign. It is expansive and has a great view of the lake, even if that means being a bit exposed to wind. Heard whipporwhills here both nights for what felt like an eternity before I fell asleep. Nice firepit area, maybe a little cramped. Fishing off the shore yielded nothing but snagged lures despite being able to see fish in the water. Overall I liked the site and would stay here again.

Rocky, elevated, secluded. There's a path to the portage that no one seems to use, so it's nice to explore.
Hammocks are difficult but we had 3, one was in the woods.
