BWCA Campsite 1421 on Kekekabic

This campsite is basically a big open grassy area with plenty of space for tents. The kitchen is almost right on the water and has plenty of views from camp. There is also a trail out to the point, which would be a nice place to watch the setting sun. The landing is very easy. There are two landings right next to each other. One is about 15 feet wide, not quite enough to parallel park a canoe but close, and the other is about 10 feet wide. There is plenty of room to land and pull up canoes. I found four good tent pads. A couple are near the kitchen, with one under trees that should get some shade and another directly behind it. Those two may be a little lumpy from roots and small rocks, but they are still pretty good. There are also two more flat, grassy tent pads up the grassy hill near the woods. I could probably find several more places if needed, so this would be a good site for accommodating a larger group.

Open grassy area, tent pads in the trees, good fishing spot off the point to the north of the site, plenty of trees for tarps or hammocks. We enjoyed staying here for two nights.
