Previous post put it very well, so I'll quote it and add a few additional notes. "Large campsite with both sun and shade, sheltered from the wind, yet wide open and not too buggy. The site has a nice sand landing and swimming area. The only thing missing was some exposed rock along the landing area." Site is located very close to the southern tip of this island, it's on the west side, landing is not obvious so you have to look carefully for it. Plenty of places to pitch a tent, a couple are better than the others but all are more than adequate. Yes, no view from the site itself of the lake as trees screen you, but all you have to do is walk south paralleling lake from site 100 yards, do an easy scramble up the rocks, and you are presented with an absolutely sublime view of Knife to the west. We liked this campsite a lot. Took a layover day and enjoyed.

Took a while to get here after seeing numerous sites taken along our way up to SAK (cursing each time, wanting to make & eat steaks with daylight to spare). Some decent space at this site (2-3 hammock spots too), but it's secluded and has basically no view of the lake. Because of this, I don't think I would stay here again, even if it was only for 1 night, unless it was the only/best option. I did kinda wonder if I should be expecting a bear back there but did not see or hear anything at this site. You can climb up to get a sweet view of the SAK which I guess is really the redeeming point of this site. Stargazing up there would be excellent, just be very careful on your way back down the rocky slope.
