The landing for this campsite is pretty easy. It is a shallow pull-up area, and while you cannot really parallel park the canoe, it is easy to bring the canoe in and unload. The kitchen area is mostly screened by trees, with only a small window out onto the lake, so it feels protected rather than open. The campsite itself is fairly open and larger than it may first appear. I found three good tent pads and four maximum tent pads, and all of the pads are grassy. They may be a little lumpy or slightly slanted in places, but for the most part they look level and usable. The tent pads also have grass growing in them, so it does not look like this campsite gets heavy use. Most of the trees in camp are spruce, with a couple of birches and two tall jack pines. Overall, this is a solid, practical site with a protected kitchen and decent tenting.

It's been a while since we were there, but I really liked this site a lot. It was fairly slanted down to the water, but it had nice rocks to fish from at the front. There were a large variety of flowers everywhere that probably slanted my view. We ended up here due to sighting a bear on the shore further up S Arm of Knife near the Cherry lake portage inlet. The fire pit was a challenge due to a steep drop-off in front and the logs tended to roll out. That was a negative my husband. I enjoyed the latrine, which was up toward the ridge with a chest high row of wild roses in front so you could watch canoes going by while there. It may have grown more by now. we fit in 2 tents. It was a little rocky.

We set up here late in the afternoon before we even had food out a bear came in and started digging through our canoes. I chased the bear off and we loaded our food barrels in a canoe and tied it out on the other side of the lake. No more bear problems that night and we left in the morning. Tent pads are hard for me to evaluate because we all hang.
