This campsite is mismarked on a lot of maps and is actually toward the north end of Wisini Lake. The site sits on a ledge about five feet above the water and has very little shade until late in the day. There are no good tent pads. I found three possible tent spots, but they are lumpy and look like there are rocks just under the soil. You could fit tents here if needed, but it would not be pleasant. If you are hammock camping, there may be better options down by the landing. The landing is on the north side of the site and is pretty easy, though it gets a little deep. You pull into a narrow channel, then bring the canoe up onto a grassy strip to unload. There is also a small circle of spruce trees near the landing that could serve as canoe storage or a rough tent spot, though it has a lot of roots. The site is marked by one lone white pine on the edge of the ledge. Much of this area burned years ago, so the lone pine stands out, and there are not many trees along the ledge. Because of that, the site has a 180-degree view of this end of the lake, though much of what you look across at is burned area. I also found moose droppings throughout the site, so it looks like moose use the area too.

Location shown on Mackenzie maps is incorrect Its aactually further up that channel. site burned a few yrs ago. Not many trees. Previous users left entire fish and additional fish remains at the campsite. Were they hoping to attract bears? Or did they think people would enjoy drinking water with fish guts in it?
