Conveniently close to the Curtain Falls portage. Looks to the south onto islands, giving something of a closed in feel. The area around the fire grate is great for hanging a tarp, and there are both tree-sheltered pads and a grassy unsheltered pad.

There is a great sloped rock for landing canoes. The site is on a narrow part of the lake and faces southeast. The view from the fire pit is therefore not what one would expect from a better site. The firepit and seating were good for the 2 of us. The site would be small for a larger group. Top water fishing from shore in Sept was good. The water is shallow so likely not good for fishing in mid-summer. Sloping water entry would be good for a quick dip. The water is only 3 to 5 feet deep which would hinder extensive swimming. Lack of airflow resulted in a buggy camp even in late Sept.

Small, weedy (w/lots of poison ivy), buggy campsite w/2 tent pads...both on an incline where we kept sliding downward during sleep. Poor availability of good burnable firewood. Latrine in poor shape: 1) seat covered w/duct tape, 2) very unlevel step/ footrest area that you could see contents inside pit thru gaps, & 3) lots of cobwebs on seat. Nice view to east side of lake on table-rock on walk back to latrine. Fire pit in good shape w/nice view of lake; however, log seating deteriorating. Fair landing on rock outcropping, but steep drop off.
