BWCA Campsite 1880 on Crooked

We hoped for the beach site to the south but it was taken. After battling winds all afternoon, we just grabbed the next closest site - this one. This site is actually really nice. We didn't get a sunset, but the western view would be fantastic with a sunset. As mentioned before, there is a second grove on the north side of the island that makes what initially feels small actually behave much larger. There was a widow-maker back there, so be careful. We stayed in the main campsite and hung our bear bag at that grove. I caught a bunch of fish trolling a line east to Friday Bay on our way off Crooked.

Diamond in the rough. Took this site due to high water at site 1879 and site 1878 was occupied and it was late in the day. Initial inspection was such that we started to leave due to too few tent pads, but then we found a large area with multiple tent pads and another landing - this is on the trail to the latrine, but stay to the left. Good fire grate and kitchen area. We were a group of 6 with 6 small 1-2 P tents. Ended up staying two nights.
