BWCA Campsite 2032 on Eddy

This campsite is in a quiet bay of Eddy Lake. The landing is pretty easy, with a small gravel and sloped rock area where you can park and pull up the canoe. There is also an alternate landing closer to the kitchen, where a rock shelf and stone steps lead up to camp. That second landing would work well for unloading, but there is not a good place to store the canoe there, so I would unload and then move the canoe to the other landing. The main downside of this site is the lack of shade. The kitchen is raised a few feet above the water and has a nice view over the bay, but the young cedars nearby are not large enough yet to provide much shade. The tent pad area is grassy and would be very good except for a stump in the middle that limits where tents can go. I first found one good tent pad and a few possible spots, including one sloped grassy area along the latrine trail. Then I found another very nice tent pad farther down the latrine trail in a large open grassy area, which is probably the best pad at the site. I would call it two good tent pads and four maximum tent pads. This is a decent, average campsite overall, but it has very little shade and is not great for hammocks because there are not many large trees.

Not much shade but lots of room. One of the tent pads is on a steep slope and borderline unusable.
