This campsite is right by the portage to Hanson Lake, so you may see several groups passing by during the day. The landing was somewhat difficult when I visited because a fallen log was blocking it. The bay in front of the site is shallow, sandy, and only a foot or two deep, but I did not see an easy place to pull the canoe fully out of the water.
The fire grate is almost directly on the water, raised about four or five feet above the lake, and it has an excellent view of the bay to the southwest and west. It is fairly exposed on most sides, though there is some shade behind the kitchen.
The tent pads are behind the kitchen in a compact area. There are two good tent pads and three maximum tent pads. One good pad is back in the shade under cedar trees, and another flat spot is down the latrine trail, though it is within view of the latrine. Most of the trees here are cedars, including some large ones that shade the kitchen in the morning. This is a small site with some landing challenges, but the view is very nice.

We only stopped for lunch after the Hanson portage but I did explore around. We were traveling with a group of 9 so I was always looking for ways to be thrifty with tents and I could not come up with more than a couple potential spots to put tents in this site. It's small. Definitely has a good view and is located immediately next to the Hanson portage. We didn't swim but it looked like a very good swimming location. That's all I can assess since we didn't stay there.

Decent small campsite that would work fine for a small group. Direct view to the portage into Hanson. We had six guys on the campsite in one big tent. It worked, but it was pretty tight!
