this campsite offers excellent cascading water ambience, located directly on the portage along the north side of the island river. at the edge of the old pagami fire burn, the forest survived here including some magnificent old cedars. there is plenty of open flat space for tents and great hammock options. the downstream landing is wide and easy, upstream is a bit rocky. no fire grate, lots of lumber and split logs, and latrine is in good condition, rarely used. 3 star gem. great spot for those in search of the mysterious black pictographs or wild rice.
