This is another Primitive Management Area option on Spider Lake, so there is no maintained campsite, fire grate, or latrine. It is on the north shore, where there are a lot of cliffs and tall rocks. I found one spot that looked especially suitable for camping, at least compared with the other options on the lake.
It is in a burned section along the top of a rock face, with some downed burned logs nearby, but I did find two places where tents could go. They are not excellent tent pads, but they would work. Since the pads are on top of rock, staking may be difficult. Just behind the rock face, the forest is still intact, so the burn seems to have mainly followed the top of the rock. This would be a very exposed campsite, and it would not offer much wind protection, but the view from the top over the lake is excellent.
The best landing is at the base of the rock face on the east side, near a downed tree and what appears to be either a moose trail or a beaver trail. There is a grassy place to pull up the canoe, followed by a short hike up to the top of the rock face. I also saw lots of moose droppings in the area, so it may be a good place to see moose.
