This is the only campsite on Topaz Lake. The lake itself is beautiful, and the campsite is okay. The landing is very easy. You can parallel park the canoe right up to shore, step out, and unload in shallow water. There is also canoe storage a little west of the landing, so you can unload first and then move the canoe over. From the landing, there is a steep, gravelly walk up to the site, which sits about 10 feet above the water. The main campsite area is screened in front by cedar and spruce, so the lake view from camp is limited. The site itself is basically a large open area on top of the hill. I found two good tent pads, kind of, and three maximum tent pads, all in the same general area. When I visited around noon, there was not much shade in the main camp area, though you could move under the trees for shade. Around camp there are small white pines, cedars, and spruce, with a large mature white pine down by the canoe storage area. Overall, this feels like an average site on a very pretty lake.

The latrine is yards away from the fire ring with no real foliage for privacy.

Amoeber was full, Cherry was full, This was the only site available. It is small and sits 6 feet up off the water. If you want to camp in this area (amoeber to cherry), find your site by noon - otherwise you will run out of options.

Both of the campsites on Cherry were full so we ended up on Topaz. This wasn't much of a site. Tent pads aren't very good, camp kitchen was closed in, and biff was basically in camp. However, an open site is the best site. We took a pretty good thunderstorm while we were here.

Site is well above the water, with an OK landing, but not much else going for it. Main saving grace is it's the only site on the lake, so other than the thru traffic, you have the lake to yourself.

Meh. High up on the shore and pretty exposed. Latrine is VERY close to camp.

While the lake itself is lovely, this campsite is anything but. With nice campsites on both Cherry & Amoeber this site should only be used in the highly unlikely event that all those sites are taken.

Terrible site. the only redeeming quality I saw is that you would have the lake to yourself.
