Spectacular island campsite in the Pickerel Narrows. Northern take-out area preferred. Even at the end of August, ample deadwood for a fire. Lots of space for tents and tarps. Great fishing in the southern channel. A favorite!

Really like this spacious island. There are two take outs that are better than average. The appeal of this site is it's numerous hammock, tent and tarp possibilities. Some great flat areas but room for even more tents for a large group. Nice elevated site-line to the southern channel from a nice fire ring. Very scattered pinery that provides shade.

Nice open site with mature pines & pine needle floor. We fit 4 tents here in 2001, but having walked it a few weeks ago I don't think everyone was comfortable! 2 tents would work pretty well. Not all the former bench seating survives, but there's good log seating around the firepit.
