Stopped here for lunch. As mentioned, deadfall has reduced the usable space here. I think one tent is likely all you'd be able to do here now. Otherwise a nice enough site.

Has a huge dead tree leaning over what would have been an awesome tent pad in a grassy area. Other fallen trees making a bit of a mess of the site. We stayed in the site but had to put our tent in a not good pad with lumps and holes. If some one could take out the huge dead pine already broken off at the top leaning over the tent pad it would be a decent site.

Unfortunately a storm brought down several trees, impacting the usability of this site, which I have enjoyed many times over the past 20 years. One tent site unaffected, but the rest buried beneath downed trees. Someone with a good camp saw could free up an additional site. Landing on south end of site blocked, but there is a second landing at the north end. Kitchen unaffected. Bummed.

Overly built fire-ring with 2 long benches. Sure, it made cooking and wind-break fantastic, but it really sort of killed the feel of the wilderness. Swimming access was fantastic, with the Ontario shield sloping at an easy angle into the water. Views of the lake to the south and west were quite beautiful.

Excellent views from southeast across to northwest. Nice fire pit and cooking area. Nice swimming access. Tent pads allow some room between tents. Good trees for hammocks. We laid out on the rock face late at night and watched the stars for a long time.

Stayed 2-nights July 2007 - Site seemed to be suffering from overuse. We cleaned up some garbage left behind by previous campers. It's proximity to portage apparently made it a convenient 'pit stop'. Poor fishing. Next time I would opt for another site further south on Silence.

Access to this site is on the western tip of the peninsula. The point provides excellent views of the south and northwest arms of the lake. Nice bench with decent fire ring. Tent pads are in separate clearings and offer a bit of privacy, as well as wind potection. Area next to fire ring for cooking. Only a short paddle from here to the portage into Agnes.
